We are sharing some of our favourite English countryside escapes! There is nothing quite like the beautiful British countryside to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Think miles of rolling green hills, charming little villages, rare wildlife and historical sights. In spring time the flowers start to blossom and lambs are born. In Autumn, the leaves turn orange and cosy pubs offer a warming drink by the fire.

Wildlife in Devon and Cornwall

Puffins return to their breeding colonies on the grassy seaside cliffs during spring and there is a chance to spot seals, whales, dolphins and sharks off the south west coast. There are also numerous food and drink festivals and a sea of yellow daffodils to be found.

English countryside escape to the cotswolds

Welly Wanging in the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is a whimsical place with meadows of wildflowers, traditional country village fetes where welly wanging and competitive baking are common place and the world famous Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling event. We also recommend a drive though Minchinhampton and Rodborough common where cows and their calves rule the road.

Bluebells in the Lake District

Lastly, for our English countryside escapes is a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Lake District. Whilst the region is beautiful all year round we love a spring visit as the weather is more mild, tourists are fewer and most famously the fells are under a blanket of picturesque bluebells. Take a short hike to see the well loved Herdwick sheep with their distinctive smiling faces.

There is an abundance of spectacular countryside escapes in England that are easily reached from well connected cities, perfect for visitors. We can help you plan the perfect trip for your clients, tailored to their interests. Just send us a email or visit our contact page.
